It is vital that food manufacturers take all the necessary precautions to avoid contamination from the preparatory stage of raw food through to the production process and packaging. As conveyor belts come into direct contact with food as part of the processing lines, their safety and hygiene are essential in ensuring food safety.

The solution - Volta from Viking Conveyor. Why you might ask? The Volta belts make the entire cleaning process quick and highly efficient. The fully extruded, smooth belts allow substantial savings in maintenance, downtime and water. Forget about the long soaking time needed to sterilise modular belts or costly cleaning process performed to sanitise plied belts. Now, that's a thing of the past.

This superior belt material which supports the HACCP concept has proven to be most effective to clean - a brush down with detergents and rinse with water can take less than an hour, showing great savings in labour and downtime. The lightweight belt is easy to lift and clean thoroughly on both sides. These features allow for quick change over between products, converting downtime into production time.

While cutting back on downtime, the Volta food approved flat belts will also significantly increase the hygiene level of your entire production line and reduction in bacteria build-up will be seen. The belt's surface is smooth, with no crevices which if present, could trap harmful bacteria.

Fraying of the belt edges can cause fragments or contamination in the food products. Made from TPE, the Volta homogenous belts will not fray or come apart at the corners or edges. The belt is also constructed without pins or joins.

At Viking Conveyor we stock the range of positive drive belts from Volta, which includes Volta SuperDrive. SuperDrive offers all the benefits of above and more. It eliminates off-tracking with its integral teeth on the drive-side of the SuperDrive belt which serve as a built-in guide mechanism for the belt. This self-tracking quality lessens belt damage and product loss.

The positive-drive operation eliminates slippage and does not require tensioning of the belt. This, in turn, reduces maintenance to a minimum and increases belt life and general operating efficiency.

At Viking Conveyor we have an extensive technical and industry experience with Volta in New Zealand. We support a wide-range of food manufacturers, including dairy, fishing, agriculture and food processing.
